May, the new cruellest month!

Sorry about the lack of postings this past week. The order came down from the client: "Less blog, more slog." What could I do?

With the framing, it always seems like there is just one more little thing to do. But as far as I can tell, I am down to the last one more little thing.

I did the wall that is the west wall of the stairwell and the east wall of my mini-closet this weekend. The studs look all mis-spaced because they have to follow the rafters that were already in place, and they are full on whack. 25 inches apart here, 21 inches apart there, 30 over here... as Nancy Kerrigan would say, "Why?!?!?" Anyway, it won't really matter in the long run, as everything will be covered by drywall.

The project now is getting contractors lined up: we'll need to get Lawrence the Extremely Efficient in to wire and start soliciting some drywall bids.

As for the very last one more thing, I think that it is in the south bedroom and it involves a rafter nailer along the south wall and one little blocking change in the stairwell wall...

oh, and of course, we need to change all of the framing for around the new windows. But we can wire first.
